An overview on Mulkraj Raj Anand's Coolie

              Mulk Raj Anand's "Coolie " was first           published in 1936 and is considered as a land    mark work in Indian literature. It is written in picaresque and episodic novel.                The story follows the life of a young boy named Munoo, who is orphaned at aa young age and forced to work as a coolie , or a manual laborer to survive. Through munoo's experiences, Anand exposes the harsh realities of life for the lower class in British - ruled india.The novel sheds light on the exploitation and mistreatment of coolies in various industries, highlighting the oppressive conditions under which they work and the systemic injustice they face.
